Awesome incentives for green lodging in the Garden State
Attention green
hotels and wannabees in New Jersey: your state has tens of
millions of dollars available for existing commercial properties
seeking to improve their energy efficiency – up to $3 million
per property is available! The coolest part is that the
more energy you’re able to save, the more incentives you earn.
This unique Pay
for Performance initiative is administered by New Jersey’s Clean
Energy Program. The project awards incentives based upon the
achievement of these three key objectives:

Submittal of an Energy Reduction Plan
prepared by an approved Program Partner. Incentives at this
stage are between $5,000 and $50,000 and are based upon your
property’s square footage.

Implement the recommended measures in your Energy Reduction
Plan.
Incentive amounts depend upon projected energy savings for the
first year.

Turn
in a post-construction benchmark report
that verifies your property’s actual energy reduction during
the first year. Incentives will be paid to match electric and
gas savings as long as a minimum of 15% savings have been
realized.
