It’s the season for celebration, and for taking stock of another year gone by.  For EcoGreenHotel, this has been a year of unprecedented change and growth.  We’ve added new staff.  We’ve formed exciting partnerships.  We’ve opened an awesome online store.  We’ve told you about cool green hotels and interesting green hospitality products and services – all for the purpose of showing you what’s possible in the world of sustainable lodging.

And now we want to tell you one last thing before the year runs out:  Serving you – our friends in the green hospitality community – has been an honor and a privilege this year.  We hope we’ve inspired you to reach beyond what you thought was possible for your eco hotel – to think big thoughts and dream big dreams, and to keep putting one green foot in front of the other on behalf of Mother Earth.  Our individual efforts may not seem like much, but together we really are making a difference!

Green hospitality steals the show
Economy blamed for attendance drop at annual hospitality event

Despite an overall decline in the numbers of exhibitors and attendees at this year’s International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IHM&RS), green hospitality products and services were showcased in record numbers.  Attendees were treated to demos and information about everything from biodegradable water bottles to eco-luxurious bamboo towels to  recycling bins pretty enough for the most upscale property.

As usual, the IHM&RS – held November 7-10 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City – provided the year’s best opportunity for industry insiders to catch up on all the latest trends, especially those related to sustainable hospitality.
